Is this your first baby? A lot of times they're late. My friend and I were both due around Christmas, and we both were 2 weeks late.

I really don't think planning c sections or inductions are a good idea unless there is a definite medical reason to do it. Inductions can lead to trouble, and often lead to c sections themselves.

Good luck to you.

They won't induce you early unless it's a health concern. I'm not trying to sound rude here but your soon to be mother-in-law and family can hold off around the time your baby is due so they can drive to you. After the baby gets home they can pop the cork on a bottle of champagne! All the best!

And as all the other girls are saying, if this is your first baby and your pregnancy is going along normally, more than likely baby won't show up until after the due date. Speaking from experience. My daughter was 1 1/2 weeks late.

If you really want an induction, just talk to your OB about it. All you can get is a no right?! I was induced with my daughter and to be honest, no one told me about any risks, which now that I think about it they should have...regardless everything was fine and I would have done it anyways. I was due right before Christmas with her too but the doctor suggested induction because I was ready.

No one has their baby on their due date. Or atleast just a very very few people. This is your first baby, which means youre most likely going to be late, most often than not first time moms are.

Being induced is painful, and risky, and can lead to distress in the infant and an emergency c section, NOT something you want to risk. Besides that, it makes labor longer and endlessly more painful. Its not fun.

Baby decides when its ready to be born, its body when ready to survive outside the womb, releases hormones that cues your body to start labor. UNtil then, just go with the flow.

I had the same problem...I was due on christmas..I didn't want to delivery on christmas so my child could have its own birthday not on a holiday. My doctor put me on bed rest for two weeks so I could cruise thru the holidays and he enduced me four days after christmas.

Also see if you can get induced before the last day of the year, that way you can claim the child on your taxes for the entire time of that year.

Talk to your doctor. Depending how the baby is. If everything is fine, I'm sure inducing a few days is not bad. They would have to break your water and put the medication to induce in your IV. But babies are either two weeks early or two weeks late.

An induction is not without risks. It increases chances of a c-section and any number of dangerous events for you and the baby. In my opinion, your reasons are not very good to induce. I believe that babies come when they're ready and to do otherwise is to borrow trouble.

They won't induce you before your due date. When you induce labor, it could cause complications with the birth. Doctors only induce labor when the risks of continuing the pregnancy are higher than the risk of inducing.

i does not. needless to say the toddler continues to be in there for a reason. it extremely is diverse in case you're late. yet to do it each week forward for no reason is kinda pointless. i will basically inform you techniques magical and particular it extremely is to bypass into hard paintings on you very own. i did no longer get the prospect with my first 2. my daughter became 10 days late and my son had a coronary heart arrhythmia. So i became prompted with the two. yet my 0.33 hard paintings started on that is very own with my water breaking. IT became an exceptionally thrilling journey that i does not commerce for something. so as somebody who has executed it the two techniques, i might advise you basically enable nature take that is direction and enable your physique paintings as that is meant to. it's going to be something you will on no account forget approximately. i'm no longer speaking appropriate to the discomfort. :)

You should not have a baby on a cartain day for convenience. Wait untill the baby is ready or if the dr feels it is necessary for an early induction. Thats my opinion.
