Well I would strongly suggest you do go to the doctors. They normally perscribe a course of antibiotics and it will clear up almost straight away.
There is no point in putting it off as it could lead to infertility if left untreated.

Are you sure you have a yeast infection? Discharge alone does not a yeast infection make. IF you have itching and burning those are sure signs of a yeast infection. If your mother is a health professional I don't understand why you would come to us. You are her daughter - you should be her first concern. Ask her about it and tell her not to tell you it's too much sugar. Yeast infections can be minor but they can also indicate great trouble. You should be able to talk to your own mother. Please try.
Discharge comes before you get your period and you will always have discharge. Some days it will be heavy and other days you won't seem to have it at all. But you will never really know.
And your mom is right: discharge reflects what goes into your body just like your hair, nails, snot, eye sleepers, and basically everything that comes out from inside reflects what you put in: food, air (clean or dirty), male semen, etc.

Yeast infections DO NOT lead to infertility if left untreated. It will just become impossible to live with when the intense itching hits...and it normally does. If you believe it to be a yeast infection, you can go to any pharmacy and get the medication for it. Take if for several days, if it doesn't get better, then I suggest seeing a doctor as it might be something else.

It's worth seeing the doctor to get it evaluated. I find oregano oil helps (from health food store) and getting out of exercise and damp clothing fast. There's some various supplements at health food store plus of course drug store too. The sugar point is a good idea but also carbs as well.

Monistat has a good product out. Also, YeastGaurd is good. * Do not use a towel more than once for sanitary reasons..it can prolong you infection. Do not use harsh soap products. I would use something for sensitive skin, like dove or ivory, etc. I hope you can talk to your mom somehow anyway. I also understand that's not always the case. I hope it goes away soon, I'm getting over one now as well.Scratch..Scratch.....really, don't scratch, though.

Go to your local grocery store or pharmacy store such as eckerds or rite aid and go to the femine section. There will be medication that you insert into your vagina. There are day ones, three day and seven day. My suggestion is not the one day treatment, they don't work as good. Try to treat it as soon as possible though, because it will only get worse, it won't go away on its own.
