I've heard about it on tv and in books but no one's ever actually told me what it was. What is it? Does it hurt? How do you do it?

masturbation is when you pleasure yourself sexually by stimulating your genitals with your fingers or an object.
it doesn't hurt unless you're doing it too hard or with something that you shouldn't be doing it with.
it's also the safest form of sex there is. self-love is safe-love. you can't catch STDs from yourself.

But you do know that the best sexual position if someone is 14 weeks pregnant is "doggie style" and "really hits the spot"?? Come on give us a break.

In today's society I find this is totally unbelievable that a 16 year old wouldn't know. My 12 year old knows about it just because of his friends talking about it!
