what is the material, wood, metal, plastic? Gorilla glue works on wood, metal and plastic, Krazy glue on metal and wood only, no plastic. Good luck! You realize you'll have to clamp the pieces together for at least 24 hours, no sitting on the chair.

You did not say, but I assume your chair legs are made of metal or plastic as most are. I hate to tell you but although you can glue these parts back together, the joint won't hold. this type of joint is what is called a "butt" joint. there is very little surface area for the glue to hold. To make matters worse, it broke at the part of the chair that will take the most stress. If it is all steel, and you were able to properly weld it (I guess you don't have that ability) it MIGHT hold. Let me give you some other advice.

If you are worried about the chair because you think you boss will get upset, tell him his cheap chair broke! I should not have by the way, and YOU could have been hurt! If it is your chair, just buy another. The money you would spend on glue and parts to try to fix the chair, could purchase a used one from a second hand store like Goodwill or the like. I found a leather highback arm chair at the Goodwill for $20, and could have gotten the regular office chairs for $10. The chair is not worth fixing, replace it.

What is it made out of? Gorilla glue fixes about everything for me but it takes a while before you can use it. If its metal you can use jb weld if it is wood you would need to put a block in the hollow part and get 2 pegs and drill out the block. Line the pegs up and glue it back. Plastic I would just use some Gorilla glue you can get it at wal-mart for like 7-8 bucks and it will glue almost anything together.

Added: Go with the gorilla glue! And after you get done squeeze the air out of the tube and the Glue will last much longer for the next time you break something. You will need to keep pressure on it for at least 10-15 mins. Then let it dry for as long as the tube says for.

I would try gorilla glue and maybe reinforce with some duck tape.
You could always ask someone at your local hardware store - Lowe's or Home Depot.
Or maybe the mfg. would have a cheaper replacement part. Sometimes they'll send you parts for free, it depends on the company. It wouldn't hurt to call.
Good luck.
