The Alderhopper is not an animal.
The aardwolf (Proteles cristatus) is a small insectivorous hyena-like mammal, native to Eastern and Southern Africa.
The alewife (Alosa pseudoharengus) is a species of small shad. There are anadromous and landlocked forms.
The Aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis) is a strepsirrhine native to Madagascar that combines rodent-like teeth with a long, thin middle finger to fill the same ecological niche as a woodpecker.

I've never heard of an alderhopper, but all the others exist. The alewife is a kind of fish. The aye-aye is an odd lemur
from Madagascar, and the aardwolf is an African relative of
the hyena.

Aardwolf is a small insectivorous hyena-like mammal, native to Eastern and Southern Africa.
Alewife is a small species of shad living in the Great Lakes.
The Aye-Aye is a primate native to Madagascar that has rodent-like teeth that taps on trees with a long middle finger looking for insects.
This leaves the alderhopper as the animal that does not exist.

Well, if you want to use the 50-50 lifeline, I can tell you for positive sure that the aardwolf and the aye-aye are definitely real animals. Aye-ayes are downright cute.

I know that the first is related to aardvarks and the third is a herring. and the fourth is a lemur.
That makes it an alder hopper for false.
I also spotted this question on a Tickle Quiz.
