I remember people saying "God would vote for Bush." It boggled my mind to think that the creator of the Universe, matter, and everything else would care about American politics.
Some people just don't get the fact that the United States isn't the only country in the world and the Earth isn't the only planet in the Universe.

So, you really want to make a Political/Religious zealot's head spin? Tell him God is a Republican, and by His actions, Jesus was a social Democrat, and since the Holy Spirit stays out of the fray, He must be a Libertarian (little government). Since Father, Son and Holy Ghost are trinitarian (three in one) then does this make the Godhead schizophrenic? Ask one this question. They get red in the face, huff and puff, and their head will start spinning like Linda Blair's in the Exorcist. Sheesh, you get a real Preacher Politicker and his head might actually blow up!

G-d doesn't hate conservatives.
Sorry you can't seprate Church and State.
If so than Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton need to remove themselves from public view if the likes of Pat Robertson and such are not allowed.
If Democrats are allow to speak in churches and is accepted the Republicans have the same right.
It would also have to go with the line of WWJD. Mean for that person to ask themselve not to question others.
For the most part I do agree with you.
I do however have major issues with the idea that just because I have a belief in G-d that I should not be allow to speak in public and question my government.

You are indeed right. God is in the right/wrong business, not the left/right business. I guess when you die, it doesnt matter if you had a R or a D beside you name, but a C (Christian) or a N (non-Christian). That is the most important decision hands down one could make in this lifetime. Good works dont cut it. We have all sinned, and we all need forgiveness by the grace of God. He gave us a Bible, his Holy Word, follow that, or at least try, and you will find your life will be more filled.

I agree with you, religion has absolutely no place in politics or law making.
Im sick and tired of politicians trumping up the holier-than-thou card and people just gobbling it up believing just because they have a religious affiliation automatically makes them good and have high morals.
We need a strong secular movement here in the US composed of all kinds of believers and non-believers to stop this nonsense.

Good point. I think it tends to be that people let emotions get in the way of reason, and come to the conclusion that everybody, including God, must think the way they do.

Amen. This does not, however, in any way mean that Republicans and Democrats cannot decide that the US Constitutional protections of freedom of religion should apply to people who give those rights to everyone else.

Very well put.
Because it is easier to accuse God of hatred rather than admitting to their own hatred towards anyone who is not like them.
