I have been finding poop or pellets of some kind scattered over my driveway and front porch. They measure everywhere between the size of a tootsie roll to the size of a pencil eraser (including the metal part). They are dry and very brittle and have very visible insect pieces in them, such as june bug wings. My first thought was that these were owl pellets, but there is no fur in them, and anyway, I've never seen or heard any owls around here. I also thought they might be from bats, although I find a lot of these "things" under my porch overhang, and I've never seen any bats flying around. We have a lot of toads around, and although a lot of the pieces are too big to be toad turds, I thought that maybe they are something that toads regurgitate. Do toads do that? If it's not from toads, do you have any idea what it might be?

Could be many kinds of birds, or skunks or raccoons. Toads actually do sometimes have very large droppings. I've worked with toads that are about 6 inches around, and their droppings can be as big as cat poop.

It's still possible that it's an owl. The smaller owls like screech may not be taking anything with fur but may be taking small invertebrates along with insects which come out at night.

My guess is skunk poop. I've seen droppings like that when skinks are around. Skunks like to walk around paths and driveways and even up onto patios. Bat droppings look similar to mouse droppings. They are tiny.

Is you garbage can outside in the vicinity of you house ....Mine is and I notice raccoons on garbage day sometimes a skunk too. Not too sure about why they want to hang out on your porch though?
