Hi all I am a little upset because I am 18wks and I go in for my ultrasound to determine gender but everyday someone walks up to me and tell me that I am having a boy because I only have breast and stomach and I don't have morning sickness and also I am not eating that many sweets as I use to all the things are coming up as boy my babies heart rate is 165 1st visit and 156 second visit. I am happy to have a healthy baby but I have to say that I had my heart set on a little girl. Do my symptoms sounds like boys and does any one else feel this way kinda upset about the outcome of your baby.

Those symptoms have nothing to do with the sex of the baby.

First I know how it feels to have your heart set on a certain sex. When I had my first baby. I just wanted a girl nothing more said. I wen into my ultrasound and found out it was a boy. I tryed to have a girl since. I am now with 4 boys and no girls. You are going to have what you have. I was disappoined every time only to find out that what was best for me. And the same will happen with you. As what you said it sounds like a boy but my sister in law did the oppisite, all the signs for a girl and had a boy. They are all just old wives tales. Sometimes they are true and other times they are not. The baby is already what it is and you can't change that. so just go to your ultrasound and be excitied to hear whatever it is. Good luck and wish you the best! If you want to talk any more IM me!

If you feel like you are carrying low, it's probably a boy. Or if you are craving spicy or salty foods, and have no morning sickness, those are typically sympoms that women pregnant with boys get. ( yes, they are old wives tales, however 8 out of 10 women in my family carried low, didn't get morning sickness, and craved salty or spicy foods and had a boy. The other 2 had terrible morning sicknees, only craved sweets and carried really high, and had girls, so there is something to be said for that) I know how you are feeling though, I had my heart set on a boy, until my ultrasound, the minute they announced I was having a girl, my whole world shifted, and I feel in love with the idea. Now, I am so thankful that I have a little girl, and I wouldn't change a thing.

I know how it feels when you have your heart set on one sex. The old wives tales always suggested that I was going to have boy. No morning sickness, Low baby heart beats, craving for spicy and salty food.(I used to eat a lot of sweet before now I just hate it). And even everyone around said I was going to have a boy. I had my heart set on a little boy but when I found out in ultrasound at 18 weeks that I am going to have a girl, I cried for a week. Right now I am 22 weeks pregnant and whenever I see a little boy, I start crying. Just dont follow all this old wive's tales and wait for your ultrasound.

Well don't know in yr case but I have 4 children 3-Boys then the last A Girl!!! My boys heart rates were always always in the low 130's bot very rarely over 140. But My daughter's heart rate was always higher much higher like 160's. So if yr babies heart rate is 180's maybe it is a girl! Good luck I know how ya feel I've been there a few times. :)
Best wishes with the birth!

Lower heart rate is supposed to be a boy, and higher a girl. Like 160-180 is high, and 130-150 is lower. That worked for all my friends, however, my sons heart rate was 180 and my daughters was 140, so it was opposite. Then I was told that weight all over was a girl and only belly was a boy, but again that was opposite for me. Everyones body handles pregnancy differently, and the only sure way to know the sex is after he/she arrives. Congrats. No matter what you have cherish him/her. A baby is a gift. And besides, even if you have a boy, they are so much fun, and just a sweet as ever.

Those are just myths. I was carrying very high and only had the belly and boobs. I had a boy but the heart rate and all doesn't matter on gender. Everyone said i was having a girl and i wanted a girl so bad but i had a boy Now i'm so happy i have a little boy. It doesn't matter what you have aslong as they are healthy. You'll be happy to have either. If it's a boy it'll be a mamas boy.

Trust me-- no one knows. None of that is necessarily true. I was convinced my first daughter was a boy. I was a little upset when I found out my second baby was a girl (had my heart set on a boy), but once you get further along and you feel the kick and start buying clothes, you really won't care. You'll start to picture the baby, and you will get over feeling a little disappointed.

I would leave the determining of the baby's sex up to the doctors, people will always swear they know everything but in reality no two pregnancies are the same. With my daughter everyone swore oh it's a boy it's a boy and guess what to my surprise it was a girl, it was kinda saddening I really wanted a boy, which I'm finally getting.

I had people that were constantly telling me I was having a girl. the ultrasound didn't show his gender (i guess he was shy =P) but i knew deep down that it was a boy. which is what we really really wanted and the first words out of my mouth after he came out and the doctor said "Its a boy!" were "Oh thank god!" lol I'm glad i have my little boy, but if i had a girl I would have loved her just as much. Same as you, if you have a little boy you'll love him just as much.

As for all those things people tell you, that make them think your having a girl have a tendency to vary between different pregnancies and different people. Plus its a little early judge sex by heart rate, since all babies heart rates are faster at first, and slow down a bit as they develop. just tell everyone to shush until you get your ultrasound. hopefully you'll be able to tell what your having and can plan for your little boy or girl.

Good luck!

These people don't know what the heck their talking about. My sis carried totally in the front with one and the second one she had a huge butt and carried a totally different way. She had 2 boys.

I carried the same way for both - out front. I had a girl and then a boy. It's just old wives tales as far as I'm concerned

As long as you have a healthy baby thats what really counts. I was convinced I was having another girl. The shock on my face when they said "its a boy" must have been hysterical!
