maybe its the other side of a black hole!
or maybe its a gate way (worm hole) to another dimension!

Well,it's certainly interesting.I doubt it is the butt end of a black hole,it seems to be simply a huge area, devoid of anything, even energy. It was found when they decided to give a "coldspot" they discovered.Lower than the normal 2.8 degreesK.That means there is not even energy. The "Big deal" is that it doesn't jive with any current models of the universe. An exciting time to be an astronomy buff

First of all, it's IN our universe - as far as we know, there is only one universe full of galaxies(like Milky Way). The universe has lots of galaxies & other matter strewn about inbetween & there are denser areas & thinner areas.
They figure when the universe started there were some slightly denser areas which then attracted more matter due to gravity & developed int galaxies & clumps of galaxies.
The big deal here is they found a HUGE area with no apparent matter - so big it can't be explained by gravitational attraction of other matter - the universe is too young.
I say 'apparent' because what they actually found was no radio or microwaves come from that area (both fairly uniform thru universe). So maybe it's empty or maybe a different kind of matter or maybe like you say the but end of a black hole.
One sure thing is that the astronomers are all really excited because they can't explain it (yet).

The space between galaxies is largely empty yes, but the big deal here is the sheer size of this empty area. It's about a billion light years across and is hence bigger than any previously seen empty region.

It's not a huge deal, but it's an indication that *perhaps* the Big Bang wasn't a symmetrical explosion - in other words, the universe may not be equal in all parts. That *could* mean that physical laws *might* also vary.... it's unlikely, but it's one possibility. And *that's* a big deal.

Maybe its just a space with nowt in it !

The big deal is that there has not been anywhere else like it discovered in the cosmos. Most bits of space have stars, or galaxies, or dust or clouds, or even dark matter in them.

I was not aware we had universes, surely there is only one unless you are a science fiction writer

the big deal is your *** might get sucked in there.
