Im new to this...looking for some answers or maybe someone who has experienced this before
I have been on Ortho try lo for 3 years now. Never missed more than one pill a handfull of times over that period of time. This past month, due to refill issues I missed the first 3 pills of the pack. I was told to use the pack as usual and use a back up method. We used a foam spermacide. Now Im experiencing either exagerated PMS symptoms...(extremely sore and sensitive breasts, very tired for the past couple days), but none of my normal symptoms or...maybe early preg symptoms....!!?! I normally start on my 3rd inactive pill...Im on inactive pill 2 but will I start with the pills or my normal time? Are the missed pills to blame for the wierd symptoms? Or maybe pregnant? Im taking the test in the morning, just in case, but maybe someone has some advice.

if i had to guess i would say that the missed pills have to do with the lateness of the period. i have been off birth control for about a year and a half and have been using various spermicides and i haven't gotten pregnant yet so i think if it's used right it's a pretty reliable bc.

Someone gave you some bad advice. If you miss that many pills in a row you need to use more then just a spermacide because spermacide doesnt last. You need to use a condom and spermacide together for your best chance of not getting pregnant. You also need to actually talk to your doctor about what to do. And in my opinion its better to be on the shot because you only have to remember 4 times a year to get it. Good Luck.
