how well can a ditch witch trencher... roots, rocks...?

how well can a "Ditch Witch" trencher handle trenching through rocky soils with large, tough mesquite roots?
model in mind is the 1030

It chain/bar isn't diamond tipped. You should have a narrow shovel and cutting saws (or chain saw) and be prepared to stop the machine and dig out the rock or cut the larger roots. Doesn't sound like an easy job..........ick.
