exects also receive company leased autos such as Mercedes Benz which the execs do not have to pay for nor pay taxes on.

Thus average Joe is paying a larger percentage of his/her income in taxation (income tax, property tax, auto tags, so forth) even though they are in a lower taxed bracket.

Top executives are in very high demand. It is a high pressure, strenous job that only a select few are able to handle. With that comes the rewards of salary and other 'perks.' There is nothing wrong with these policies. Instead of complaining about this, become a CEO and experience the life for yourself. I did, and would never go back.

Hell no. It is amazing that the income which working families earn via actual LABOR is taxed at a higher rate than that income from sources such as investments or executive perks. I sure wish that the 40% of my income that goes for rent were "non taxable" ... must be nice.

Compensation and incentive offers are what they are. Companies do what it takes to attract and retain top executives. Some seem to over do it, and in a public company such lagresse may be excessive.

But it all depends on the situation. Fair either has everything or nothing to do with it, depending on whether you think the situation is really based on supply and demand of executive talent.

Corporate welfare. The people who can afford these things get it.

A company might be better off investing money in commuter cars for their employees. Why attracting the best only matters on the very top is beyond me.

All the people who make much less than the CEO is paying for that, it's coming out of their paycheck basically, well it's never in their paycheck. It's wrong.

i am not sure when it became a 'sin' for business to be successful. i think we should make our government adopt a lot of their practices and maybe we would be more successful. i think if you look at all the perks congressmen get, you will see similiar practices.

in business, if someone doesn't perform, they are fired maybe we should demand this of congress.

i do think the tax system should be revised but i don't see why everyone thinks a business should be limited to the money they are able to make for their stockholders. we are after all, a capitalist society and believe in the free market.

What's unfair about?

Anyway, if I had things the way I wanted it there would be a 10% tax for everyone and no corporate taxes.

Yes. How isn't it fair? Everyone of us have the same opportunity to get a high school education AND we all have an opportunity to get a college degree. Every single one of us.

Some people use that opportunity and make the most out of it.

Is it "fair"? Who decides that? If a company feels an executive is worth the money they pay him, in whatever form it takes, who should decide whether its "fair"? I guess the Board and the stockholders, not me.

What are you worth?

I'll tell you what you are worth. You are worth the best deal you can make.

If your best deal included somebody else paying your taxes for you, you would take it and not give the government a dime, so knock it off.

Yes.

Does it make you jealous to think that some people are so talented that companies have to bid with large and creative compensation packages to win their services? Poor thing.

Look out, your green face matches your shoes.
