Here's my opinion -- I care about all my fellow Americans regardless of political differences . However , I'm troubled by what many of you are posting on this site . Specifically the fact that some of you folks are so damn busy kicking the other guy and arguing about meaningless or lesser issues , while we are about to enter September . Why is that relevant ? -- Well , because many of you have forgotten or just refuse to listen , that the terrorists have continually promised lately , that there's a major attack coming on our country. . . . and soon too . September would be logical , but it could happen in October or whenever . But the fact remains that the terrorists don't usually come-out with many video warnings unless an attack is imminent . The State Department , Homeland Security and others have also warned us . . . rather ambiguously , but warned nevertheless .

Now doncha think that maybe we should be discussing ways to help each other just in case this does happen ?

Honestly...no.

I don't believe that we should change our way of life just because some nutcases don't like our country. I'm apalled that any true American would be intimidated by these tactics. We are the land of the free, the home of the brave. I wish our citizens would act like it.

Furthermore, I think this whole 'The terrorists are about to attack' rhetoric is just political manuevering. It's a scare tactic to distract us from the real issues.

And, lastly, I don't really care too much for many of my fellow citizens. There are a great many of them who's opinions I find so foul and bigotted that I would gladly watch them drown rather than lend a helping hand. Gay bashers, right wing Fascist neo-cons, racist pigs, and sexist morons are just a few of 'my fellow Americans' that I really don't care about.

In closing, I think that you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. Why do you believe everything you hear about terrorist attacks? If the U.S. was so vunerable, don't you think we would have had another attack in the last 6 years? Look at places like Isreal, where real terrorists actually target the population. Some areas are in a constant state of martial law, and they still can't stop the bombings. Our 'terrorist' problem is just hype.

You know… this is a great question. When I am driving I often look around me. I see the mother in her car stressed out dealing with all of her problems and I say a prayer for her. I pull up to a light and often give the guy selling newspapers a $5 or $10 for no paper, at least he is working. There was this one guy who I did this with, couldn’t speak a lick of English but, he took my hand, looked me in the eyes with a tear in his and said “Thank you” with a thick accent…

I personally care about you all and I frequently deal with the consequences of what I occasionally post which may be less than friendly…

Earnest....the 'Caring for other Americans' is essential to this country....and in all honesty, so is the bickering.

If you take 'America' and not look at it as a country....but more of a family...you will see many similarities to families.

Families all love each other and care about each other...but opinions and traits more often than not cause that lovely bickering....and it seems to always happen around a holiday dinner table.

But it still doesn't mean that we don't care for each other....our individual opinions are just that...opinions...and if you decide to force everyone to our opinion...well then...what fun would that be.

I understand that the terrorists still want to kill us all...but ya know what....there's ALOT of whackos out there that want to do harm....just to do harm...but you can't live your life in fear. If you do...guess what...the terrorists have already won!

The army seems after the water. floor ships and submarines plus a very good Airwing. plane vendors and help. The Air tension important concentration is air superiority plus missle defenses. the army is floor troops and Helicopter help. The Marine Corp (the final branch) works with the army in conflict circumstances the place prompt action to take and guy a objective. carry it till the activity could be exceeded over to the army (in concept it particularly is). yet there's a maximum necessary 5th branch. those adult men are genuine heros. they're the adult men and woman of america Coast shield. Earnest T.- There is nothing to worry about, the american people have before and will always come together and help each other in times of crisis, look at the outpouring of concern and help and money after 9/11. We all need to be vigilant and observe any strange behavior and not be too afraid to report anything you find strange, but I don't think we "Americans" have anything to worry about when it comes to helping others in need in a time of crisis, we do it all over the world and we will do it here too if necessary. FEAR NOT.

Americans will always help other Americans when the going gets rough and the chips are down.

Sure, we bicker and fight about meaningless and lesser issues, but I'm very confident that everyone here would pick a person up if they fell.

to answer your question, Yes I care about all my fellow Americans(except maybe Michael Vick (haha)), but I think that there is so much bashing going on simply because people are anonymous, they find it entertaining. But how can we help each other before it happens? Besides being aware, and noticing things out of the ordinary, I really don't know what else to do.

Yes, you're right.

I just saw a commercial the other day, telling families that they really need to have a plan in case of a terrorist attack. I'm sure a lot of people will scoff, and sneer down at the "fear mongering" but to dismiss the possibility is just foolish.

And yes, I *do* care about my fellow Americans despite political differences. We're Americans first and foremost, and I think we have a duty to each other.

"so damn busy kicking the other guy"

As was the case with John Galt yesterday:
"You can't force kids to learn. We need to promote policies that straighten the family instead of trying to get fags married."

That Republian intolerance sounds a lot like the scalding diatribes against Democrtaic candidates.

I'll wait for the next viscous lashing against all things "liberal" and remember this.

I consider all Americans as family, no matter how dis functional they can be. I do have a real problem with those family members that have no problem slandering our home.Example; (DIXIE SKUNKS)
I admit we have some issues here but by far we are still have the best , government, health care, environment, people, hearts ,etc. in the world!
NO ONE HOLDS A CANDLE TO THE USA. Don't agree, there are boats and plains leaving every second.
