It's so hard to get things like this accomplished with small kids in the house. It sounds like he works very hard and I know finding the time and energy is also another factor. If I were in the same boat, and I am many times, I would do one of two things. I would tell my husband that I was going to hire a handy man to do a few things around the house. He would say no of course and that he'll get to it. I would then pin him down on a date and plan to have the kids away (grandma's or a friends house) that day. I would spend time helping him get these things done and then spend the rest of the day in bed, with no kids!! When you ask next time, he'll remember the last time and be in a hurry to schedule a day....;)

I am soon to be married so I can't say from experience but...my fiance does all that stuff for himself already. He has even mentioned to me that he would prefer to do his own laundry. I think that most wives get angry with their husbands for not doing these things because they know that they once did them for themselves before they got married. It shouldn't be expected that the wife will be doing these things that you mention. But if I was doing these things for so long into the marriage and he stopped and then one day just did it I guess I would be shocked, surprised, and thankful that he finally helped.

It makes me feel GREAT. I already know I'm the luckiest woman in the world because I married a wonderful man, but when he does stuff to help me out it's AWESOME! I appreciate him more and I feel like since he's helping me he's also appreciating me more.

i love it when my husband does that. sometimes it is few and far between (he works ALOT) but when i get home from work i am so tired and don't want to do anything and sometimes he will cook dinner or do a load of laundry even! he even takes our son out to play for a while so i can have my 5 minutes to recoop.

When my man dose things around the house for me I know he understands how hard I work and I appreciate it sooooo much. He defiantly gets extra attention for the effort even if he dosen't do it exactly the way i would have.

Actually, it used to bother me. I took it as a slap in the face - like he was pointing out that I wasn't doing my job. I know that sounds weird but I was dealing with my own issues at the time. I later figured out that doing things for me is his way of showing me he loves me. Now, we do these things for each other regularly.

If its cooking, i dont like it. But that never happens so i dont have to worry.

But cleaning and laundry he does all the time, and its nice. We are both full time college students, and he works full time as well, so any help we can give each other is appreciated.

except cooking. the kitchen is my domain but he understands that and accepts it.

It makes me feel lucky that I have a man in my life that will help around the the house without me having to do everything myself. Your wife should feel lucky knowing that her life will be that much easier and she will always have help.

Mine does all of these things. I work a pretty hefty schedule. I feel guilty. I love him and have taken a pretty lucrative part time job starting next week because I feel so guilty about it.
