There's a decent chance you'll deliver early. 40 weeks is an average, which means 50% are earlier than that. The thing I noticed first with both of my pregnancies was a REALLY bad headache. It doesn't happen to everyone, but I know others who have experienced that and it's never mentioned in any of the pregnancy books. Just look for contractions that are fairly regular and get closer together. Back pain can also be an indicator that labor isn't too far off. Then again, you may get NO signs until the big day. WIth my first, I had a headache, but brushed it off because I didn't know if it had anything to do with it. But a few hours later my water broke with no warning whatsoever and my son was born the next morning!
Good luck, and congrats!

My child was a preemie. When I went into labor I had no contractions. Just a KY jelly-like discharge. I started having very mild menstral-like cramps in the ambulance and during the course of 4 1/2 days had back pain and an uncontrollable urge to have a bowel movement. I kept running to the bathroom and tried to push it out. I was even very nauseas and was retching a lot. on the 4th day early in the morning my Mother insisted that I be checked because things just didn't seem right. The resident came in and discovered that I was crowning! I'd been in heavy labor all along. I delivered 45 min. later. I could have had my baby in the toilet because the nurses were unconcerned about my symptoms. If you're concerned, get checked. Be insistant.

Sure, there's a chance you could deliver early, but really you need to wait just one more week before you make any attempts. Truly the baby will come when the baby's ready but there are some things you can try. Having sex is a big one. Drs believe a hormone in the man's sperm can help bring labor on when it comes in contact with the cervix. Going on brisk walks can also help and it's good for you anyway. I would avoid nipple stimulation as it can bring STRONG contractions and is a little dangerous. You may also try squatting while watching tv or something. Don't worry, baby will be here soon!

To be thoroughly sincere being prompted is far worse. I was once prompted the primary time round and I was once so burdened by way of the supply that after time got here and that i discovered I was once pregnant once more I went for a voluntary c-phase to restrict induction. Generally it is performed with an IV drug, pitocin. It motives very quick, powerful, lengthy contractions very similar to ones that you just get correct earlier than delivery. However you might have the ones via the entire exertions as an alternative of simply the final short while. Also with this drug you're now not allowed away from bed to transport round or take a look at one-of-a-kind birthing positions, birthing ball, water delivery and many others becuase the drug will also be damaging. You will probably be caught flat for your again in mattress with the fetal displays on via the complete exertions. They would possibly or would possibly not deliver you whatever to stimulate your cervix. Also hold in brain that now not all inductions are victorious and they are able to result in a c-phase. If prompted insist that they have got the anesthesiologist on web page earlier than they start the pitocin. I did not know the way powerful the contractions could be so by the point I was once capable for an epidural I needed to wait a further a million.five hours for her to get to the medical institution! Most ladies get an epidural round a 6 cm dialation. The affliction was once so unhealthy that I burned via the IV affliction meds and was once hyperventilating at a three! No topic how youngster will get right here you're a brand new mom. Never permit anybody inform you that you just did not do it correct for now not having a "typical" delivery. You have a youngster and you'll be able to be a hormonal break the primary few weeks. That definite seems like a brand new mother to me! For what it is valued at I healed weeks quicker with the c-phase over the prompted delivery.

Possibly... I delivered a week early. The pains you are having, sounds like the pain I had too. It was my uterine strain. The muscles were really stretching. Also the pressure from the baby's head, I had really bad. It was my baby getting into position, and she was a heavy baby. 2 weeks after having these pains I had my baby girl. Good Luck and Congrats!

You get back pain because the baby is heavy and by holding yourself up, you feel pain. If you've lost your mucus plug, the baby will come pretty soon. Have you experienced any Braxton-Hicks's contractions yet? This is a sign that your body is preparing for real labor. I never felt these contractions, but after I lost my mucus plug, my water broke a couple days later.

Just chill out, every woman hopes beyond reason that labor will start early, but its just not for the best of the baby.
its the readiness of the baby's body that releases hormones that cues your body to start labor. If you do it before you're ready you're giving birth to a child that has not reached the best place for survival outside of the womb.
This isnt just a temporary thing we're talking about, this is the health of your child for the rest of its life.
Go swimming, take walks and stay active, but dont over do it. A couple more weeks out of the REST OF YOUR LIFE will not be your death, you can do it, especially when it means so much good for your child.
I know how you feel, i had back labor and a dropped baby from 30 weeks to 40 weeks. Its hell, but its for the love of the baby that you put up with it.

Hey we have the same due date. Pre labour can consist of show, back pain, increase in frequency of braxton hicks and restlessness. I went through this a few days ago and the labour stalled cuz my baby's head wasnt all the way down, so its a waiting game for me! Yeah you can deliver early. You are full term right now!

I don't see why not. If your baby has gotten too big for you and is causing you discomfort, your doctor should be able to induce labor. Normal gestation is 38 - 40 weeks. You can have your baby next week and it'll be ok. Hope I helped!
