occasionaly turn quite pale, which inturn makes his temples and the bridge of his nose between his eyes look kinda blue? it only lasts for a while anything from 10mins to 45mins.

hes fine in himself, happy, eating, playing not hot or cold not tired. its happened 3 times this week, at any time of the day

he went into hospital at 7 weeks because he was screeming himself blue in the face and basicly screaming all his breath out and passing out.
while at hospital he had full top to toe MOT, ECG (Heart scan thing), blood tests, chest xrays, the works.

The hospital thought he may of had acid reflux but test came back fine to, so we stil dont know why he did it, we came to the conclushion its his temper, thankfuly hes stopped doing it now.

so any ideas why he changes colour for no apperent reason?

On the last part about color...sounds cyanotic. Whenever there is reduced blood flow and oxygen, it can make them blue. Not a dr, but here is what I'd do first...what you did-the dr. Be sure if you see various nurse practicianers or different dr, you keep asking about it.

My daughter was born 3 wks early. It made her nervous system less developed. It meant sometimes she was just in a 'black, black' mood. When nothing else could be discovered (dry, no pins, full, not irregular or gassy), she would sometimes just open her mouth and scream, turning blue. She also had occasional tremors. It really scared me, but the nurses said it was just because of underdeveloped nervous system. (She does have Irish, German, Cherokee blood on her father's side.) The tremors went away by 3 mos. I would consistently put her to bed after rocking when nothing else worked, the blue temper was gone by 18 mos, as I recall.

I'm not a doctor and I think you should mention it to one, considering his background. I am a mum of 3 kids though and have one who as a baby looked like this at times. I put it down to the fact his skin was very fair and his veins close to the surface. If you feel uneasy as a mum I would always say better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck and I'm sure it's not seruious so dont worry. :)

I have seven kids, i've often noticed the bridge of their nose a bit blue but was never concerned about it as i put it down to veins, if he is in good health i wouldnt be too concerned but if he has bouts of crying before or after he goes pale i would recommend going to the doctor, there could be absolutely nothing wrong but if it is worrying you then you should get it checked for your own peace of mind.

If this was my son, I'd check with the doc because anything that worries you about a child with this history should really be checked out. Although you say it's stopped happening, it could re-start and I'd want to be sure there was nothing to worry about.

when my son was little, if he hurt himself, he used 2 scream then fall 2 the floor & turn blue. then he wud lose his breath & pass out. it was the scariest thing i had ever seen. he didnt even have 2 hurt himself that bad. i tuk him 2 the docs & he said it was a shock thing. thats wot he done when he was in shock. its away 2 restart his breathing so although it luked awful it was his way of dealing with shock so mayb your son has something simular. my son is 9 now & hasn,t had one 4 afew yrs. the doc said he wud grow out of it & he has. hoped this helped abit.

He needs attention. Try not to let him cry till scream. Some babies need attention. First he will cry for awhile, when no body attend to him, he will scream to his top.
So better don't let him scream to his top and further he will inhale air to his stomach, in the end will have stomach bloat.
So you have to be careful.

Next time it happens, measure his pulse. My niece had bradycardia--where her pulse for no reason pumped up her heart to 200 bpm.

If it continues to happen, I'd take him back to that hospital and demand they find the cause. What if it's something that could be dangerous?
