An all encompassing feeling that it is not a bed of roses and that you have to keep the ball rolling no matter how low or high you are.

If you're asking about some petty excuse to exalt your self-being, keep digging you'll find one someday. If you're asking what this so called life concludes to, you'd need a time machine to get to a deeper analysis of what it means.
But to question the meaning of life from where we are now standing is about as stupid as asking one's self about the hour of death, the how and when it will arrive. What if you don't find a meaning to this so called Life? Is life bearable to live? Or will you abandon it? And, what if there is? Will it be that much important to live the so called Life once the meaning is found? Or will you market this meaning of life to help others? Or gain from others?
Believe it or not, this question have been answered in so many ways and none is wrong and none is correct, it is also, unanswered because we have yet to conclude life as we know it.
Maybe someday, when the last remaining man on earth sits down and finally answers this question to what life really meant, then we can all be content to live our lives as best as we can.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Do you mean to ask "meaning of the life?" or "meaning of human life?"
If former, then life is to live in unison with nature as much as she has extended the rope for us.
If later, then life is live better than beasts in almost every sense.

Someone already said the Monty Python thing so....I would say the meaning of life is individual. It's not something that can be agreed on by everyone.

This question pops up every day, several times a day, and I always give the same answer! =D
One time someone asked "What is the good life?" and I said "an outdated British sitcom starring Penelope Keith and Richard Briers". I enjoyed submitting that one!

Life is similar to a dream. What do you think is the meaning of dreams? To go through, and to live it fully.

Walking around in a sort of zombie like stupor occasionally stopping to eat or talk or laugh or buy a cd or argue with somebody. Every once in awhile a tid bit of understanding pops up and then it's back to zombie time.
