You have hit the Control button as well! I do it regularly - nut sure of the sequence to clear it, but keep hitting control, shift and caps lock button - it will go eventually!

My computer was doing that a few days ago. The delete wasnt working and the shift button was sticking and causing everything to be caps. My son used a little brush and found a lot of hair / dirt / food crumbs had found their way into the keyboard and causing it. A vacuum could do the job. REmember to put a piece of cloth over the mouth of the vacuum so loose parts dont get sucked up.
