If the top number is high its generally because you're nervous, or were just stressed out.

I had the same issue. Mine was 170 on 80 some times, or 169 something on 70, but usually 1. But i have white coat syndrome.

i had this but not until 40 weeks, i had to be induced for safety to myself and my son. As far as i know you really can't do too much apart from making sure you rest and don't overdo things. You really have to take it easy, otherwise you can you and your baby in a lot of danger. I would think you will end up being induced early if it does not improve. My ob told me it was probably brought on in me because of stress, i went into prelabour for about a week, so the stress of nothing happening and no further dilation or anything like that was enough to stress my body out, especially with my first baby. As soon as i was admitted to hospital, within that day my bp returned to normal, but he decided he wasn't going to risk anything. Long story short, you MUST relax and don't think about things too much, if you are calm it should correct itself, and your pregnancy should be pretty smooth. Take a holiday if you can and take a break. Always make sure you have some you time.

I had a little trouble with it...but my top number was only 143. The midwives put me on Hawthorn Berry suppliments and it went right down. I had the same trouble with it on my next pregnancy and took Hawthorn Berry for a week and went back and it was in the 120's! I love that stuff! Miracle pills! I'm not sure about anything quite that high, but you could give it a shot anyway. A nice prenatal massage might help too ;)

Good luck!

Try not eating salt to help with your bp. Also ask your dr if it ok if your bp goes up higher during the day when you are working. Rest Rest Rest while you are pg. Don;t sweat the small stuff and please take care of yourself. God's Blessings on you and your new baby.

My late wife had this with our second son! Both numbers were high. It's believed to have been behind her cause of death 10 years after he was born,an aneurysm. :-(=
