He will continue the Surge and keep the Generals that are toeing the line. Doesn't matter that the Independent GOA says that Iraq has failed on 11 of the 18 Benchmarks. Now the Republicans are saying the Benchmarks don't matter. Spin! Spin! Spin!

I really don't think president Bush gives a hoot what the American people need, want or our opinion of him--he has an agenda and that's that. I do not expect a change until 2008--It will still take time to repair the damage this president created. Thank you for asking.

"While we've seen progress in some areas, it would not surprise me that the GAO would make this assessment given the difficult congressionally mandated measurement they had to follow," said Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the National Security Council

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the report has not been made public, also said the administration is preparing a case to play down the findings, arguing that Congress ordered the GAO to use unfair, "all or nothing" standards when compiling the document

It's kind hard to say this was fair when the GAO was given a mandate of win or loose instead a measure of progress.
BTW, Bush does not run Iraq, therefor, he is not responsible for the political failures of the Iraqi government, as dems would have you believe.

If your mind (figurative) is already made up and you refuse to be influenced by reality, why ask the question?

We'll never make enough progress in Iraq to please liberals (who dictate what we hear). Liberal democrats are so desparate to lose in Iraq, they'll say whatever they have to in order to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

What did the Generals in theatre tell YOU??? What do you think you know that the President doesn't???

And you have the cods to suggest that I'm perennially fooled???

What a tool!

did you even read this story?

it looks like you are trying to say that if all benchmarks are not met, we will have to surrender, or bush has lied. the story does not say anything about a promise to withdraw. it says:

"But in exchange for their support, many GOP members said they wanted to see substantial progress in Iraq by September or else they would call for a new strategy, including possibly a withdrawal of troops."

please display some lies other than your own.

Funny, I didn't read where it said he was going to make anything public and I know for a fact you're not on his level AND it was hearsay from anonymous people in the government and they could have had a bad day. Sorry but hearsay isn't good enough for me to even give it a thought.
