The biggest health risk - is death. When I worked in the hospital I took care of anorexics - this was quite a few years ago - and we lost quite a few due to cardiac problems.

Not nourishing your body can cause many different problems now and later in life. It is not uncommon for anorexics or those that diet incorrectly to suffer from osteoporosis (brittle bones).

I don't know why you think a 14 year old should be 5'5 but anorexia can cause a decrease in growth hormones.

The health risks are death, no periods, lack of growth, malnutrition, heart problems, anemia, loss of hair, dry skin. If the person is anoexic they may not grow properly and also there is no way to predict how tall a person will be so I am not sure where you get the idea that this person is supposed to be 5'5" when she is done growing. No one has a clue how tall they will end up. Anorexia if not treated though leads to death so it not something to take lightly.

It's possible her growth would be stunted. There are many health risks especially if it's prolonged. Basically the symptoms of starving/malnutrition. I think heart failure is pretty common. Even if it doesn't fail, it can have problems.

But another thing, I don't know how you figured out how tall she's supposed to be when she's done, but it is very hard to predict those things, and you don't know how long it will take for her to reach her full height anyway. There are many more things you should be worried about, if she's anorexic, rather than her height.

your height may be stunted. your organs will get destroyed. metabolism will slow down. could deprive your brain of it's nutrients, skin and hair will be unhealthy and look like it. your stomach will begin to eat it's own walls, there are many health risks. this is a major problem and if you are suffering from it you should talk to someone and go to a doctor to make sure too much damage hasn't already been done. if it's a weight issue you're worried about, there are plenty of ways to lose weight without risking your life.

loss of life. Anorexia is a very intense ailment that slowly kills a man or woman. till now that occurs in spite of if, all your electrolytes can pass out of whack and intent each and each organ technique to close down. that isn't any longer desirable.
