No but i have come across people that have admitted to this.
The Oedipus complex in Freudian psychoanalysis refers to stage of psychosexual development in childhood where children of both sexes regard their father as an adversary and competitor for the exclusive love of their mother. The name derives from the Greek myth of Oedipus, who unwittingly kills his father, Laius, and marries his mother, Jocasta.
In Jungian thought, the Oedipus complex tends to refer only to the experience of male children, with female children experiencing an Electra complex in which they regard their mothers as competitor for the exclusive love of their fathers.
Freud considered the successful resolution of the Oedipus complex to be key to the development of gender roles and identity. He posited that boys and girls resolved the conflicts differently as a result of castration anxiety (for males) and penis envy (for females). Freud also held that the unsuccessful resolution of the Oedipus complex could result in neurosis, and homosexuality. Most Freud scholars today agree that Freud's views on the Oedipus complex went through a number of stages of development. This is well exemplified in the Simon and Blass (1991) publication, which documents no fewer than six stages of development of Freud's thinking on this subject:
I dont recall Fruad ever writing that all male's whant to kill there fathers and rape there mothers.
Yes wemon also have those same feelings remember this is a child's state of mind and also remember we all mature at different time of our life's Hormonse et et then well read Fruad's book also read Carl Rogers.Fruad has'nt be debuked 100%

That would be the Oedipus Complex, named after the Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex, in which the main character unwittingly marries his own mother and has children with her. Indeed, it is a legitimate theory, I believe proposed by Sigmund Freud. However, personally, I want the person I have sex with to be as far away from my mother as possible. Probably because I despise my mother, but that's another issue entirely.
Also, on an unrelated note, I believe there is an opposing theory that all women have a similar unrequited sexual desire for their fathers.

Yer man Freud has a bit of a point, but it's more about protecting her from the sexually aggressive (as opposed to the female ... what the fek did Freud know ... 'passive' role) male better known as 'Dad' whom we also wanted to kill.
We would idolise our Mums and (I can confirm from my own experiences) seek a partner who emulates her qualities and physical traits as in our subconscious, such a woman would obviously make a good mother otherwise 'we' wouldn't have existed or survived.
So in essense when we select a mate we are banging our 'pseudo' mums.
You girls don't get off that easily though. Ever wondered what you look for in a man? The words 'Father figure' spring to mind at all??
They should!

NO WAY, not if we're healthy anyway.
This is an old Freudian theory, and even though Freud was a huge figure in the history of Psychology he was obsessed with sex at a very unhealthy level i reckon. Maybe it was true in Frueds case though, that wouldn't suprise me

Freud was fulla crap. He's got all kinds of lame theories. Not everyone in the field of psychology subscribes to Freud's theories. Most don't.
He always smoked a cigar...I think he had unresolved phalic issues with his father.
Oh, and the mother thing? We screw like bunnies every Tuesday night. Just kidding. I'm gay...does that mean my mother was a dude???

If you'd actually read anything about this theory you would know it is spelled Oedipus. You clearly haven't read anything about it or you would know that Freud did not say that boys want to have sex with their mother. Freud's theory was also discussing little boys aged 3-5 years of age, while you are addressing this question to adult males, to whom it does not apply anyway. You are also discussing it with the assumption that it involves conscious awareness, while the whole of Freud's theories assume unconscious processes drive behaviour.
Stick to asking questions about things you know something about - especially in the psychology section.

Why do you spread such rumors for the any individual who had or has such unhealthy belief in the first place? Even if the person made it up example: Freud what does that info tell you. He was so controlling that he assumed the thoughts for every male born and believed women were objects (wishful thinking)... proof is there. The guy knew how to make money using people - that alone is disgusting.

This is called the Oedipus Complex. It rfers to a theoretical attachment between boys and their mothers. It comes from Frued and really has little to do with wanting to have sex with one's mother. It is more about males being attracted naturally to females, and the first and most important female in most of our lives are our mothers.
