Let your boss know when you're in your 4th or 5th month of pregnancy. That gives him plenty of time to prepare for your absence.

I am going to wait till im at 12 weeks. Since the last time I was pregnant I miscarried at 8.5 weeks and I dont want to tell anyonet ill I know forsure!
Its completely up to you, if your job consists of heavy lifting and allI'd tell them sooner then later- but otherwise wait till your comfortable!
Im 7 weeks tomorrow and I am not telling anyone I work with till atleast 12 weeks. Might be more depends on how I feel!lol Good luck though and Congratulations!

In the UK you don't officially have to tell your boss until 15 weeks before the due date. Tho I'm going to tell my boss at 12weeks, partly so it gives them time to find maternity cover but also so they can be more understanding about when I don't feel so good and if I have appointments to go to
Hope this helps! x

that depends, are you telling for work related reasons or just because you are so excited? you should give ample notice, some people chose to tell when they start showing. i am pretty close to my boss and i will tell her as soon as my first trimester is over (i'm not pregnant... but one day). we work 12 hour shifts here and we're like a 2nd family.

it depends on the type of job. When PG with my son i told my boss when i was 6 weeks as my job involved quite a bit of heavy lifting, so he arranged someone else to do the heavy stuff. Also you are entitled to time of for clinic appontments so maybe best to let him/her know.......
