...even as far back as silent era, a very funny, and rather emotionally moving comedy/drama is actor/producer Charlie Chaplin's most excellent 1931 film, "City Lights"...
...a trio of real good, poignant and at the time, controversial films on my 'favorite' list incude "A Patch of Blue", "The Big Carnival" and "The World, the Flesh and Devil"...
