I think it has to be Scarface. He was amazing! He played a Cuban, and made it believeable....how was this not the best Pacino flick??

DOG DAY AFTERNOON. THE GODFATHER was Pacino just discovering how far he could take his talents, but DOG DAY was him at his peak. It's also one of the most subversive dramas ever made. I've known DOZENS of macho, tough-as-nails straight guys who would name this as their favorite Pacino film next to SCARFACE. It's a credit to Al's and Sidney Lumet's talents, that everyone forgets that it's the story of a gay man robbing a bank to get money for his transsexual lover's operation. Who else could pull that off?

Long before 'Trainspotting' or 'Drugstore Cowboys', there was 'The Panic in Needle Park', a fantastic piece of cinema.
I think it's realism and graphic exposure of the heroin scene of a 1971 NYC was brilliant!
Also Kitty Winn and Al Pacino seemed to work so well together.

Tough one!!!!
Toss up between the Godfather and Heat.
Gotta go Godfather because his character makes that change from wide-eyed college kid to Don of a mafia family.
Check his hair and complexion early in the movie and compare it to the end.
It is like a totally different person.
