Why do kid's laptops have such tiny screens?

Why do kid's laptops have such tiny screens?

I want to get my son a laptop "all his own" and the ones for kids - the Batman, Barbie, etc.... all look nice but the monitor screens are as big an index card - can't someone make one that you can see?

They're cheaper to make,
There's less likely to get broken,
It's not a REAL laptop per say, it's a TOY, albeit a learning toy

probably bcos the kid's brain is smaller...
