The United States Post Office is closed on Federal Holidays- that includes Labor Day. There are some grocery stores (at least where I live) that have operate as a Post Office.They will take your package and ship it for you, (only domestic shipments) but it will not go out until the next day. You may have to wait until Tuesday to ship your item.

Check with the office you want to go to, since they keep different hours. For the two closest to me, one closes at 4, the other used to be open until 5:15 but recently started closing at 4:30.

Five..In the village I work in, I have to take the post daily..
Though its usually half day opening on Wednesdays and Saturdays...

it depends on the individual PO, some shut at 5:30.
