Keep it. If you can see inside enough you might be able to clean off any ink deposits, that might help. I had a trusty hp inkjet which sprayed a trace of ink around inside. Worked well until it decided to leak ink, surprising how far 19ml of ink can spread. Perhaps have a layer of newspaper under it to catch any possible drips. Bought an Epson, not up to hp.

Have a look behind the print head (with power off, please) You may see a clear plastic ribbon about 8mmwide.. it looks clear, but if you look carefully, its imprinted with a code in dots/dashes whatever. This tells the printhead where it is. If that is dirty, then strange things happen...Clean very carefully with fluff free cloth & iosopropyl alcohol. May work, costs nothing to try. DO NOT 'UNHOOK' IT OR YOU WILL BE IN DEEP TROUBLE!!!!!

Looks as if the the roller's allignment is gone.
Is it printing OK?
Check the printer setting as well.
If the printer is not expensive its not worth getting it repaired.
Its easier to buy a new one.

as long as it is printing then there is no need to replace.
I have an old HP that sounds like there is a cat stuck in it. It still prints well, Sometimes it grunts, sometimes it screeches sometimes it makes odd little thud noises.

yeah just run out to walmart and pick up a cheapo 40 dollar printer. Much easier than having to repair it.
