we pre-paid a patio contractor some money for our back yard project, but he didn't show up on that day, when we called him, he gave us a lot of excuses, and promised another day, but he still didn't show up, then we called again, he never answered the phone, his office phone is a voice message, but we don't know his office address,we're in canada, what can we do to report this guy and get back our money ? we have a receipt from him for the money we paid, and he did claim the money from bank.Thanks!

Unfair though it is, you might have to sue him for it.

First write them a formal letter requesting you deposit back. If that doesn't work call the attorney general office and report them and they should advise you on what steps of action should be taken next.
