On my previous question I asked which beach I should go to while at Disney. Most people recommended Daytona or Cocoa beach. Has anyone snorkeled at either beach? If so, which one do you think has more fish to see?

If it's Snorkeling you want to do, try the fresh water springs in central Florida instead of the beach. Crystal clear water, tons of Fish, maybe some Manatees
Wekiva Springs is the closest to Disney (about 25 miles)
There is also Blue Springs, Rock Springs, Silver Glenn, Alexander Springs, Salt Springs, Weki Wachee, Deleon Springs, just to name a few. All are within 1 to hours drive.
For snorkeling I like Blue Springs (Near Deland) about 40 miles north of Disney.

By far the best beach are Fort de Soto (just north of St Petesburg) and Caladesi Islando (lshort launch ride from Clearwater) Great for kids adults and seniors. All facilities (Fort de Soto even has a great beach for dogs, Closer to WDW are Cocoa Beach - many tourists and hotel traffic. Volusia county Daytona Beach, New Smyrna and Ormand Beach 49 miles of ocean beach you can drive on 6 miles 10mph speed limit. Very active and a lot of people. With the rough surf, snorkeling won't be much fun along the Atlantic coast. You will need calm water to have clear water. I have never tried snorkeling along the East coast for this reason. Now, the Keys is a different question. When I first snorkeled at Bahia Honda I was amazed, I though I was in an aquarium.

If you were to try some of the inlets or intercoastal waterway you might find some clear water, though I doubt it. The West coast has smaller waves and clearer water. I'm not sure if it's clear enough to see the small tropical fish. Larger fish, are mostly game fish and are wary of humans.
