114 billion dollars has been allocated to the Hurricane stricken region...114 billion..get it? Louisiana and New Orleans have failed to timely process the proper grant applications to receive the already allocated money. It's just sitting there waiting for Nagin and Blanco to get their acts together and get the money flowing.
Mississippi, on the other hand is nearly rehabilitated because those authorities have properly requested the money and have received it and used it.
I think the news this week said that Mississippi has processed 2000 requests for the allocated monies while Louisiana has completed 20(twenty).
If ya wanna blame someone blame Nagin and Blanco..The money's there waiting.

Have you done anything to help?
A disaster of that magnitude is reparable overnight?
Are Monday morning QB's ever going to act instead of criticizing?
Think about what are you going too post before just babbling an question.

New Orleans was done by the US government. They caused the flood several hours after the hurricane was gone.

Funny, I just heard that adjusted for inflation, we have spent more rebuilding New Orleans than 10 different Eurpoean countries after WWII. I wonder if it has anything to do with the involvement and work ethic of the inhabitants of the affected areas?

People have come to their senses. Living below sea level amounts to taking a big risk. Anyone who spends his own money to build there is not too bright.
