or do you ever feel slightly hurt when someone gives you the thumbs down.... especially when you were trying to be funny and they think you were serious? ....sobbing... i didnt mean it like that :(

Yes, or when I have taken the time and trouble to give a long answer to a long and very sensetive question.
Sometimes I look at all the other answers and see they all have thumbs down so I dont feel so bad..just a troll..wasting some time I suppose.
And, whoever just gave me that thumbs down...get a life mate!

I very seldom bother to check for thumbs up or thumbs down anymore. Although I do wonder at times about why I have been given the thumbs down when I do look. i know one guy who automatically gives everybody a thumbs down when he answers a question. He tries to get a lot of Best Answers and that's part of his strategy. I don't think he even realises he could be upsetting people!
Anyway, you know I'll never give you a thumbs down Martha ;-)

nah.... i don't really care of people give me a thumbs down... it's not as if their opinion is effecting my life in some great way, nor am i ever going to meet these people face to face... If I was trying to be funny with a question or answer, and someone gives me a thumbs down, then i just assume that person is incapable of possessing any sense of humor and/or lacks any inkling of an imagination..... then i move on because it really doesn't matter one way or the other....

That's all part of the game to be honest if someone gives me a thumbs down I do not give a flying **** about them I know what is right or wrong that is all that matters.

I don't think it's personal. Sometimes people give a thumbs down if they know your answer is wrong so that it draws attention to a correct answer. Of course sometimes people just think its clever to give a thumbs down. Take it as a compliment that people spent the time reading it and were bothered to mark it at all :o)

No, don't worry about what others do. I get thumbs down all the time and don't let it phase me. With all the people here your always gonna find people who disagree. I do thumbs down the haters though.

Yes! stated that this joke was from a child with brittle bone disease to try to cheer me up. at the the time.
Morons didn't read the the answer At 5+ thunbs down answer decided to delete the answer for the child! before I launched into a severe attack of hatred!

yes as a lot of the time i have no idea what i have said that has upset them! I think some people just dont like people with opinions that differ from their own.
