I don't know about you all Yahoo users but it seems to me that we have forgotten Osama. In the news all you hear is the War in Iraq, yet we hear nothing from the news about Afghanistan. It seems to me that president Bush saw an escape goat. By that I mean President Bush with this approach "oh now that I'm in this situation might as well finish what my daddy had started (Gulf War)." That's how I see it and it seems to me that we have a weak leadership that isn't focus and dedicated. Take Hurricane Katrina President Bush was on VACATION? To finish this it seems to me very unfair that Osama is still alive and that we have forgotten about him. I would like to hear from all of you and what's your opinion.

NO! its not that I don't have a life nor that we're not sure if we really have killed Osama. I'm asking this because I'm doing a term paper that its due by the end of the semester (need to get some controversy of what people think) and I just want to see what people think, so all of your opinion are really appreciated.

Who?
Dick Cheney told us it was Saddam Hussein. So it must have been, because Cheney NEVER makes mistakes.

Osama has not been forgotten he is just real good at hiding. Course maybe he is dead. As long as his organization Al Queda is disrupted and cannot formulate another attack I am happy. As to President Bush being on vacation when Katrina struck why not? It is not as if he did not have access to anything he might need. He could not do anything to prevent a hurricane from striking the coast. He even had to wait to send in help until Louisiana officials asked for help.
We need to pay more attention to all the countries in the Middle East. Extremist Muslims are immigrating all over Europe and they are coming from Iran and Saudi Arabia. If the west does not get control of the immigration into their countries we can expect more attacks. France, England and the US all have a problem with illegal immigration and this is how the Muslim extremists are getting into our countries.

Once again I'll make these statements--Call it what you want but the president takes time away from the White House when he wants whether that be his ranch, Camp David, etc.--our troops are on the job in Harms Way (24/7) tired and in need of rest. Our president made this statement on national television --when asked , by a reporter his thought regarding Bid Laden "I'm Not Concerned About Bin Laden" and preceded to take a question from a different reporter. We found Saddam in a hole in the ground---I don't think we are looking for Bid Laden, our president surely has his eye on another agenda. Come on folks how soon we forget important facts.

Good question, have a star!
I don't think it's so much we have forgotten Osama, we just don't know where he is or how to look for him. He's used to running the mountains and hiding in caves, and God knows there are plenty of those in Afghanistan. Then every so often we get news that he's dead or died 3 months ago..or moved to another area.
As for Bush being on vacation during Katrina..did anyone notice how he signed a PRE-EMERGENCY for the hurricane that MIGHT hit Texas?

me and the other 4 people in this house see it the exact same way. He saw an opening and took it, now thousands are dying (soilders and innocent civilains) all becuase bush wanted to take care of his personal vindeta(sp?) I bet if someone asked him about it at a press conference his response would be blah blah blah IRAQ WAR blah blah blah. He is without a doubt the most horrible president ever and its to the point now where i only watch him on the tv if i need a good laugh.

Bush can not run again and if you can do better then put your hat in the ring. Now if you know were OBL is then let them know and we can go get him and put an end to this stuff. O no we won't it will just be some more news worthy stuff until another hurricane, bridge collapse or airplane hits another big building, then that will be the thing to talk about.

I had a long conversation with one of my nephews who lost his son on 9-11. He doesnt think that Bin Laden had anything to do with the tragedy. I've been doing some research and I dont believe it either. It is absolutely absurd that with all of our resources, we cant find one man in 6 years. If I got started on Bush, I'd get a headache and I dont want to. Draw your own conclusions.

I hear what you are saying. The news is so focused on Iraq that you hardly ever hear Osama mentioned, but it's probably because the situation in Iraq is far more grave at this point. If there was something sensational about Afghanistan, they would air it.

As I can read above me, there are a lot of uninformed stupid people out there. The scary part is, that they have the right to vote. Besides railing him on the Iraq war, which he is making the right decisions on, what else you morons got on him? Let's get Hilary or Obama in there and see what they can do. God have mercy on our souls!!

What does Afganastan have to do with Osama? Last I heard he was in Pakastan. Things aren't going for sh it in Afganastan either. We just thought that Osama was in Afganastan at the time after the 9-11 attack, he wasn't really a leader for them or anything. So instead of politically trying to work with the government the USA helped install to fight the Russians in their war that went on for 20 years, the USA attacked and invaded the country to try and find one faction of terrorists. And then, of course, the USA invaded Iraq because they were connected to the 9-11 attackers cause.... um, I got nothing. However, the USA did show those Saudi Arabians, which were over 80% of the 9-11 attackers by...uh, did the USA do anything to the Sauds? No investigations? No invasion? Not even a military action? Did the USA even raise its voice to the Sauds? Hmm... that is just, weird.

It does anger me that the only time Americans hear about Afghanistan in the news is when we accidentally bomb one of our allies.
Now I starting to think that Bush is going to start a war with Iran right before leaving office.
Also, its interesting to read the reasons then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney gave on why we didn't go into Baghdad in the first gulf war.
