My father left when I was 7 months old so I have no memory of him. I cannot be ashamed of what my parents did. They made their decisions not mine. 50% of marriages end in divorce so I'd say it is very normal coming from a broken home.

I come from a broken home...My step father (the only father I had ever known) abandon my mother with 6 kids. People could keep using their broken home as an excuse to not do better for themselves, but there comes a time where you have to put it all in the past and make a life for yourself...which I did do.

The scary part is that it is becoming normal to be from a broken family. My son is a senior in highschool and I think he is the only one who still has his mom and dad together. His friends actually have teased him about it. I wish it were different but sad to say its becoming way too normal

Well don't think so. what had been wrong with ur mom and dad, this does not matter. The important one is that with whom u are living, u extend ur love and faith in ur mom, she is ur father also. The much pitiable condition will be of ur mom.If u will blame her, she will be more broken. Please take care of her accepting her as sacrificer for ur future. Had she got married with another man when u were not able to recognize ur father. How he had been treating u, so pay regard to ur mom perfectly.

Just as normal as coming from a unbroken home. You make your own way regardless what type of home you come from.

Yes it is because my dad left when i was 10 and i did fine
but its good to try to find him and get to know him because people make mistakes. we are only human
