Yes, it always sounds to good, to perfect, to good of an explaination, but then... You identify it by asking questions. The more questions you ask about details the more uncomfortable they become, if they get angry(Bingo, they are lying), if they start revising the story, They are lying, if the facts start contradicting they are lying, if they can not look you in the eye's while they are talking, they are lying,
Hope that helps...

It depends how well I know someone, someone who is nervous or unsure by nature can seem as though they are not being truthful when in fact they are.
Many of the answers you have read about body language, eye contact etc can be true, but also the liar will either be clipped or brief, wanting to end the 'interrogation,' or else over elaborate, giving more information than is asked for, or is necessary.

Michelle, How are you today? I can't tell too much about Lying on Yahoo! otherwise, I have to know the person or friend for a long time, then it's just a guess! Jimmy.

yes!
Body Language of Lies:
• Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space.
• A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact.
• Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand.
Emotional Gestures & Contradiction
• Timing and duration of emotional gestures and emotions are off a normal pace. The display of emotion is delayed, stays longer it would naturally, then stops suddenly.
• Timing is off between emotions gestures/expressions and words. Example: Someone says "I love it!" when receiving a gift, and then smile after making that statement, rather then at the same time the statement is made.
• Gestures/expressions don’t match the verbal statement, such as frowning when saying “I love you.”
• Expressions are limited to mouth movements when someone is faking emotions (like happy, surprised, sad, awe, )instead of the whole face. For example; when someone smiles naturally their whole face is involved: jaw/cheek movement, eyes and forehead push down, etc.
Interactions and Reactions
• A guilty person gets defensive. An innocent person will often go on the offensive.
• A liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner/accuser and may turn his head or body away.
• A liar might unconsciously place objects (book, coffee cup, etc.) between themselves and you.

Look into their eyes and see if they move their gaze it is a well known fact that you can see sometimes if the truth is not there. Mind you I suppose a gun to the head would work.

If it's a test then yes, because I'm looking for the signs.
But in real everyday life: no because I'm not concentrating on looking for the signs.

Usually yes, unless they are really close to me then I think I feed into the lie because the reality blows.
