It is certainly better to be strong so that you yourself and others who are dependent on you may enjoy the fruits of your strength.
So, instead of wishing and training to be good, you might train to become strong, stronger. The aim might be a more active and more powerful participation in the destiny of this world thru more personal creativity and science.

You should define what "better" means. To what end is one or the other better? Defining "good" and "strong" also is necessary.
Personally, the end that I seek is to be happy. To this end, I think that strength (meaning confidence, motivation and fortitude) is best suited to that purpose. However, even the strongest may break down if he acts in an evil manner and so raises opposition from people around him. I do take pleasure in being good (as I define it), and I find that the positive associations that it creates brings me happiness.
I think that people worry themselves with being good who are not strong often beat themselves up and so are not very happy.

Better to be good because if one is evil yet strong , what is the use? Being good is always the right thing to do.

Depends on how you define strong. If you believe strong is physical strength, then you will not be strong forever, and if you've relied on strength to get you by, you'll be out of luck at some point.
Good, however, takes no training and you can be good your entire life.

It takes strength to be good and you have to be good to be strong especially in this day and age.
I think that if I have to choose, I would want to be strong in will and good will follow.

It is better to be good. Being weak and good is a hell of a lot better than being strong and evil.

If it's a choice between the two, then good is my answer.
In simple terms, being good to ourselves and others is why we are here. Good - you are actively participating in life. Strong has less substance.

It's the good in us that make us strong. You never see murderers that are strong. It means that they are weak because they don't have the strength to fight their dark inhibitions.

Good is a man-made, deceptive, subjective, and a rather shifty quality. What is “good” anyway? Strong, on the other hand, is not as subjective. If one is stronger than the most, then she is strong.
But what I really would prefer to be is rich. :)
May peace be upon you -P
