I for one have a very high opinion of myself so don`t say ,why have you such a low opinion of yourself. This is simply a matter of opinion so if you have none then why be sarcastic?

Yep the quote works. It basically means to me to be yourself - don't try and be someone else, do what you think is best and other people can fit in with it should they choose to. I don't see the Joneses as being better than your level, just different.
I guess you can read what you want into a lot of things such that they make sense to you in your World!
