I'm writing an essay on the effects the Blitz had on everyday life in Britain at the time. I'm struggling to find anything on the internet that doesn't have something to do with pre-written, ready-made essays so am finding it difficult to collect information for my essay. Can anyone help me with this?

One major effect on everyday life was the blackout.
No lights to be visible outside after sunset and before sunrise.
That meant covering all windows with blackout curtains and masking the headlamps of vehicles.
In major cities large brick built tanks were built at strategic points to hold emergency water supplies to fight fires.
Most people had to have access to an air raid shelter. People with gardens usually dug Anderson shelters in the back garden other people had access to communal shelters. The Tube stations were used for this in London
Many parks and open spaces were covered in anti-aircraft guns, searchlights and barrage balloon sites.
Power, gas .water and telephone were frequently cut off by bombing.
Most people carried gas masks where ever they went

It destroyed very many houses. As a result there was a housing shortage for many years following the war and successive governments were, in part, judges on their ability to deal with this problem. It lead to the creation of new communities 'New Towns' around London, in the North East and North West of England and in Scotland.

During the Blitz many workers had to do their daily job and then 'fire watch' their buildings at night. People became very tired as a result.

The education of many children, particularly in the bombed cities, was badly affected as their schools were damaged or destroyed by bombing and there were no resources to rebuild them.
