How can anyone say these kids got what they deserved? no one deserves to live in an unjust society! Why is Louisiana still acting as if it is 1950 instead of 2007?
if you have no clue, please google "The jena 6" and get some info.... As young americans it is our DUTY to ensure these types of things do NOT continue to happen. As a woman of color a am appalled at this situation.

NO... 6 Boys Beating On One Person Isn't Acceptable BUT At The Same Time, Is Being Charged With Attempted Murder And Getting 22+ Years Acceptable? No. Was It Acceptable When A Young Black Male Went To A Party Got Hit Over The Head With A Beer Bottle And Beat Up Acceptable? Was It Acceptable When The White Male At The Convenience Store Pointed His 12-Guage Shot Gun At 3 Young Black Men, And Then When They Wrestled The Gun Away From Him, THEY Were Charged With Robbery Of A Firearm? Come On Now... Stop It. Let's Be Realistic About This. Sure They Should Be Punished, But For Their Bail To Be Set At $90,000 And For Them To Get Such A Long Amount Of Time In Jail... That Just Isn't Right.

My husband and I have been emailing all of the news outlets as well as all of the politicians to try and bring awareness to this travesty. I think it is outrageous that this type of racism is allowed to go on. We are also going to Jena on September 20th along with some of our sorority sisters and his fraternity brothers. My parents are going and so is my brothers and 3 of my sisters.
