Well you need to buy a very sexy but appropriate dress that says I have class but am not a prude. Weddings are funny you have all the attention on the bride and the bridal party and you have to some how get his attention on you. That's were the sexy dress comes into play. The color of the dress should go with the season that the wedding is in. If it's in the winter wearing a pink dress would no be appropriate. Black is always a good and I recommend a solid color so the dress will accent your body and not some crazy designers idea of sexy. You want the dress to be short but not too short. Make him want to see more. wear a little perfume but don't knock him out. The most important thing is to not act like your going to a wedding but a first date with this guy but don't let him know that.
As far as the gift find out what his sister likes or if she registered some wear. Getting her a gift that she likes puts you in a good place with his family and will make your relationship with this gentlemen progress much easier. Be polite to his family and be social it's his family and the more you seem a part of it at the wedding he will be chasing you like a lost puppy. Most of all have fun and relax and after a few glasses of champagne this guy should know exactly wear you stand and you wont have to say anything about liking him yet your actions will do all the talking.

I don't think this gown, lovely though it is, is suitable for you to wear, as a guest, to a wedding. It would look as though you are trying to upstage the bride and the wedding party and your friend would not thank you for that. Have you checked what colour the bridesmaids will be wearing; also what colour outfits the mothers of the bride and groom will be in; you don't want to turn up looking like a spare bridesmaid! Your friend will be more wowed if you wear something that is gorgeous and still accentuates your great figure in a more subtle way that does not have all eyes turning away from the most important person of the day - the Bride! Have a look at these:

If, however, long dresses are going to be the norm for guests (check with your friend to find out), it may be better to stick with a dress that does not have a train; you do not want to spend the evening falling over this when you're dancing. Check these out:

Whatever you wear I'm sure you will look stunning. Good luck.

Honey, you'd be dynamite in that! But there's the problem - it isn't appropriate for a wedding. It is just not kosher to upstage the bride or to look like you're trying to. For the wedding, you need a more conservative outfit. If there's to be a dinner the day or the evening before the wedding, that'd be the time to wear this knockout of a dress. Or, if there's time, change into it after the wedding and before the reception. Just remember - the bride is supposed to get most of the attention at the reception. Your turn will come at your own wedding reception. Believe me, your male acquaintance will think much more highly of you this way.

VERY NICE. But I think this is a bit much UNLESS you are part of the wedding party. But really this is a VERY NICE gown. I'm sure you'll look hot in it. You don't want to take attention away from the bride as this would spoil things.

Well in General its not the clothes that make the person but for an affair like this you will most likely look very nice in this and he should be very proud of you.
Have Fun and hey catch the bouquet.
