Is Socialism
Government contracts, with out them what would we do. I mean what business is not associated with government contracts or exist because of them. The US Postal Service, how many jobs did that create, land, sea & air. How many cars, homes, stores, fuel & doctors will be needed. Now let throw in shipbuilding, tanks, planes, guns, ammo the space program, the military bases & parts. need I say more, everyone try and think what government contracts are in your town, hint there are many.
Universal Health works by the working people pay about as much as they pay now for health care, just that everyone is covered. I would love that, but how many government contracts are associated with the medical industry and are these people ready to give them up, a lot of BS because we are Socialism, people just don;t want that.

As long as government has no say in the matter,it's not socialism.
I like the idea of being able to write off the expense of health insurance. Government ends up paying but can't dictate any part of my treatment.
My employer and I both benefit.

Does it matter? The police, mailman, fire department are all social programs which work fine. If there is a better program than what is availible people should at least consider it.

Yes, because however you word it, it's putting government in charge of a formerly private institution. Who is doing the resturcturing? Once government gets in, there is increased taxes, red tape, government oversight, all the earmarks of socialism.

No, but it wouldn't be universal. All the unemployed and the people on welfare would not be covered.

Sounds good to me, get the lazy liberals off their backsides and work, and they would be covered by their employer. Sorry my mistake, a liberal wouldn't go to work when they can complain and draw a free government check for watching Jerry Springer.
