I am dealing with some chauvinistic co-workers. Please tell me your experiences with chauvinistic men. How did you handle the situation?

Okay, people. This is what I want to do to them. I want to stand there and agrue until they realize that I don't appreciate their comments, and that I CAN do anything they can. However one of the chauvinistic pigs is my manager, so I can't very well do that. The other ones however are not in the position of authority, even though one of them thinks they are. A friend of mine told me last night that I looked like I was about ready to kill someone & man was I in the mood to fight. I still am actually. It's getting to the point that I'm going to get so ticked off about this that I'm just going to quit my job.

I am pretty quick with my tongue so I can usually hold my own! I don't know really how to tell you how to handle men like this cause I don't know you or them.... so I would suggest just playing the little woman part... hold your tongue and just do your job! I know that is not what you want to hear but friend you need to figure this out on your own! You need to find your own way of dealing with people like this! good luck they can be so frustrating... just remember that if a man acts this way he usually does not wear the pants in his own home... his wife or mother does!

My boss is a proper chauvinistic pig and i am not sure I leart how to handle him yet. It is not easy when these co-workers are in a position of authority, you risk making the situation really awkward. I think the best way to behave is to be assertive, yet calm, direct, yet polite and tell them that you do not appreciate their behaviour and if they don't stop it you will be reporting them.
