It's really not a "either or" question. Religion is a system of believes where philosophy is the study of thought about a given subject.
Just like there are many religions with different beliefs, there are different branches of philosophy such as Ethics - the study of morality, Philosophy of Religion, Logic, etc.

This question makes no sense
It is like saying... which is better a sports car or a potatoe?
Better at what?
A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.
Philosophy is the discipline concerned with questions of how one should live (ethics); what sorts of things exist and what are their essential natures (metaphysics); what counts as genuine knowledge (epistemology); and what are the correct principles of reasoning (logic). The word itself is of Greek origin: ÏιλοÏοÏία (philosophÃa), a compound of ÏÎ¯Î»Î¿Ï (phÃlos: friend, or lover) and ÏοÏία (sophÃa: wisdom).
As you can see, neither of these are the same thing ... you can use both with each other

Neither of them should take over. Balance is the best thing. Without balance there's no point, if only philosophy don't you think hope's gone? Everybody wants to believe in higher powers than their own. If only religion then all matters of logic gone and sciences? Think about it. Balance is the most important thing of all. Hope I helped you, take care.

Religion is a primitive form of philosophy. Philosophy is more advanced, more scientific and more relevant to this universe.

That's a tough one, One people don't do is argue about religion. But, I do think Philosophy is very interesting subject to talk about. And maybe, it would be interesting to preach it as well. As long as it does not contradict what is in the bible. Can't be contradicting the bible in a church.

Philosophy is just thinking and ranting of some educated man but religion is a truthfull, ever-lasting message of the Creator of everthing as per their true nature as he created.

Philsophy and religion are pursuing the same goals. Philosophy is simply not matured enough to know where it's coming from and where it's heading to.

Neither is relevent. Action is where the rubber hits the road. Don't care what people say, look at what they do. That's the true testement of where their desires are.
