Stay where you are at, there is crime everywhere, and we don't have enough water to keep supplying to all these transplants.

I think everyone has said it already but I'll add my 2 cents..

Sheridan is tiny (but near a cool lake) and Aurora is huge. Sheridan is a bit more "inner city" than Aurora, but Aurora has it's bad parts too - South Aurora (now Centennial) is the newest and nicest, but it's like any huge area - there will be nicer and not-so-nicer parts of it.

If you are looking south of Denver - Highlands Ranch is nice (but very south). Lakewood also something to look in to. And I love Littleton - grew up there.

North - the new subdivision of Reunion is nice and you can get a lot of home for your money. I live in Broomfield and LOVE it. Westminster and Arvada are nice too, in my opinion.

I think house prices are better in Aurora for the most part. And Aurora has better entertainment/shopping than Sheridan as far as I know.

Sheridan is only a few square blocks. Sheridan Police are a pain! They have set up speed traps on their little 2 mile stretch of a popular main street/hwy. It really doesn't have much in the city limits. You can look up Englewood, Co. Its next to Sheridan and most shops are there.
SOUTH Aurora is nice. But you have to be selective with where. There are some reeeeeaally nice neighborhoods and some real ghetto ones just a few blocks away. I live in south Aurora. I would say stay south of Misssissippi Ave. and you should be ok.

Both Aurora and Sheridan have loads of crime and are not desireable. South Aurora (now considered Centennial) is OK but still I would look at southwest Suburbs if you are looking for good shopping and low crime...

Highlands Ranch is the best (great homes, almost no crime, great shopping), littleton is really good, roxbourough is good, Lakewood is OK.

Sheridan is nowhere near as dangerous as Aurora, check out some statistical comparisons. Even though Aurora is much larger, the stats are broken down into per capita.

Aurora-have not been to Sheridan but Aurora is a very nice suburb that I have been to and quiet, with access to freeways that will take you anywhere you want to go. Crime in Denver area is very high- so the suburb's are where the middle/upper middle class are living in...

Stay away from Sheridan and the northern parts of Aurora. South Aurora is relatively new and pretty nice.

Sheridan. Aurora is kinda ghetto, but it also does have a lot of shopping. I used to live right outside Auorora off of Alameda and Colorado BLVD and loved that I was 15 min from d-town

Aurora no doubt! Sheridan is pretty much in Denver and there is alot of criminal activity in those parts.I would stick to Aurora south of Alameda. Although northeast Aurora has one or two quite nice neighborhoods.

Neither are areas that fit what you're looking for. You will need to look further north or further south of Denver.

Aurora -- I would only choose SE (considered Centennial now I believe) and Sheridan is not (in my opinion) safe or desirable.

Good luck, you will love it in Colorado.
