This is a repeat question from one year ago. I'm looking for an update: What recent movies mention Albania?
I am interested in what Albania and Albanians signify in film.
The unknown? Danger? The black heart of Europe? Utter poverty? Movies I've identified that mention Albania include: Wag the Dog, Inside Man, Syriana, Manchurian Candidate (remake), Terminal, Twins, a Simpsons episode. What are some others?

There some indie/foreign films I'd recommend you watch. Before the Rain (1994) - It was an excellent film but somewhat portraited the Albanians in a negative way.
L'America - (1994) - This showed Albanian in the dawn of the post communist era.
Tirana Year 0 (2002) - A film about the rundown Albanian capital and the beautiful people that live in it.

I now these are not recent films.

DESPERADO - I just was in your country August 30th is when I returned. Your people in Tetovo are powerless and Macedonian whores were all over the streets because they lost their jobs in the beauracracy because according to the Ohrid accord jobs were given to Albanians. Jobs that all Macedonians enjoyed pre-2002 that were really a pretext to rob the Albanian population. So going from thieves to prostitutes is not a big stretch I guess. Anyway Albanian is an official language in Macedonia if you don't belive visit the Western part of your country.

Tune In Tomorrow... (aka Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter) 1990 movie starring Barbara Hershey, Keanu Reeves & Peter Falk. Falk plays a scriptwriter with a bizarre obsession regarding Albanians.

We Albanians know our story better than everyone! Europe and USA is in debt with us ALBANIANS, you exists thanks to our sacrifice done 500 years ago!!!!

The mythology of greek it isn't greeks but is Albanian, all the names and words have sense only in Albanian dialectic language! Informed your self take an Albanian dictionary and the Iliad in original language like Homer write it, comparate the worlds by your self! When Homer was born, the Greeks had just recently learned how to use the alphabet from the Phoenicians.
-Zeus survives as "Zot" in the Albanian language. The invocation of his name is the common form of oath among the modern Albanians. Athena ( the Latin Minerva), the goddess of wisdom as expressed in speech, would evidently owe its derivation to the Albanian "E Thena," which simply means "speech." Thetis, the goddess of waters and seas, would seem to be but Albanian "Deti" which means "sea."
- The word "Ulysses,"whether in its Latin or Greek form "Odysseus," means "traveler" in the Albanian language, according as the word "udhe,"(udhetues) which stands for "route" and "traveler," is written with "d" or "l," both forms being in use in Albanian.
-
Homer lived around 700 BC, in the Archaic period in Greece. No one knows where in Greece he lived exactly, and Homer didn't make up these stories, or even the words, himself. The Greeks lived in a lot of little city-states they do not have a nation and in the Bronze Age each one had in its own city a king. Before the Trojan war there is no indication of helens.Greeks were invited by pelasgians in their cities and now the greeks pretend the land is theirs.
An oft-quoted passage from the 4th c. AD Jewish writer Adamantius Judaeus is used to prove that the original Greeks were tall, pale, blond and light-eyed, not dark! So tell me where are those blonde greeks today? They are all dark skined, hairs & eyes!!
According to mythology Illyrians came from the greek Viotia. Illyrios was the child of Cadmus and Harmonia. And Cadmus was the son of Agenor who was a greek hero!
So all old greeks were pelasgians and they only by language different from other pellasgians(illyrians, epiriots, macedonians). So the old greeks are not different race from illyrians. They rapresent only a partial culture of a big nation.
