Why can't YOU figure out that atheists don't care what YOU believe! But as long as YOU insist on declaring that YOU are right and everyone else is wrong, atheists will point out the irrationality and utter stupidity of YOUR belief.
BTW, the first amendment to the constitution will get god out of the pledge at public schools and workplaces, not atheists. Remember, god has only been in the pledge since the '50's because of the paranoia of the McCarthy witch hunt era. With all the damage religion has done in this world, perhaps jail is the best place for YOU.

As far as I know, no one is trying to exclude god from public discussion or close churches or anything. The argument they make is that freedom of religion means freedom from religion in dealings with government entities. They don't care about God in private life, like workplaces, etc, but simply don't want it as part of the government that they share and pay taxes into. Is this so unreasonable?
P.S. not an atheist

Freedom of religion means that individuals are not forced by the government to believe in any particular form of religion, including monotheism. It’s apparently your belief that your concept of God should be forced on others by the government. That obviously violates the principle of the freedom of religion because some may believe in a different concept of god or gods or no god at all.
You can’t determine for others what their religion should be, what form it should take or even whether they have to have a demonstrable one at all. You certainly can't force the government to do it.

The issue is not to force god out of anything. The issue is to stop people from using tax money to support religion. This is in violation of the first amendment which states
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
So a tax on schools that is used to put up the ten commandments in a classroom is a law that promotes an establishment of religion. It is as simple as that. I don't know any Atheists who care what people do in their churches.

Great, you want all that in our public institutions.
OK, I will demand that Muslims have an equal share
How about Druids
What about Devil worshipers
You are not thinking my friend, because you force your religion down others throats through law and legislation and I will be at the front lines demanding equal access, time and representation of every damned religion and anti religion known to man.
Religion is a private and personal matter and need not be legislated or moralized in our government and public institutions, otherwise you will have exactly what I said above.
I hope that picture is loud and clear and you stop with this and start dealing with real issues that do affect you and your children far more then the lack of your Gods words in our public buildings.
Peace
Jim

How is it that Christians can't see that a pledge of allegiance or prayer in schools is no different from mind control? Do Christians really endorse mind control and the encroachment of human will??? Isn't that what most people know, since the
Enlightenment, as a threat to liberty?

Why can't ignorant social conservatives figure out that freedom of religion does not equate to the state giving them an exclusive forum to perpetuate their faith? I suppose they love to tout the free exercise clause but conveniently ignore the establishment cluase.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
That includes the government giving preference to one religion over another. You are an idiot.

Because atheists only care about their freedoms. They don't like the fact they people with beliefs also have freedoms including the freedom to express their religious beliefs.
For some reason, atheists think religious people are out to get them when it's the exact opposite. You JOIN a religion. You're not kidnapped into one.
I guess atheists will be happy when no mention of God is allowed anywhere. That would be real oppression and no freedom at all for anyone.
For those of you quoting the Constitution, that amendment guarantees that CONGRESS shall not establish a religion, it does NOT deny the PEOPLE to express their religious beliefs. No one is denying the athiest his rights as well. You're not being forced to join a religion.

"Soon if you say God you be force to go to jail thanks to them."That is such a blatant stretch it's almost unbelievable. It is Christians who wish thier beliefs imposed on the citizens of the USA.It is Christians who continue to spread the lie that America is a "Christian Nation",having been shown repeatedly that the forefathers were mostly deist, and contemptuous of Christianity."Our Creator"in no way implies a Christian god,it could simply refer to the naturalistic view of the universe. You know this, yet continue to perpetuate the lie that this is a "Christian nation".It is Christians who wish to insert ID as an alternate theory in schools, when it is no theory at all, depriving our youth of knowledge in favor of primitive superstition. There is no movement to put monuments saying "THERE IS NO GOD" in government buildings as yopu make it sound. There is constant controversy about the ten commandments,1st 1..THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.Bullshyt, how can you be MORE imposing of your belief than that.As for the ID "theory"Is it not only fair and just that we should include the hindu, native american, norse, greek, etc creation legends,if your answer to that is "NO",you have just proved yourself a hypocrite.Talk about the pot caling the kettle black. It is Christians who would jail atheists, probably behead them to boot,if allowed to perpetuate their will on the people.atheists would be satisfied if you just kept your beliefs to yourself.Nobody is asking for a physics/anthropology/cosmology major be given equal time in your church as you ask for equal time in a public school.Don't pray in my school.I won't think in your church
