Is equality important only when it benefits women?

Blueridge,

That doesn't impress me when I think of the number of men who have jumped up to take a gut shot for their families back home.

Women are allowed to enlist in the military. Percentage of casualties is totally irrelevant.

In this case I think the men in the know, both military and political do not want to give up that power, that a man takes care of a woman.
I think women can fight and die on the battle equally, I think they are committed but America is just not ready to have their daughters die in battle. So I guess the men are still in control, but there is no need to hold any woman back in any duty, they are just as good and could do the job. Don't hold our daughters back, they are fearless and in the heat of battle they will not weaken!!!!!!!!!

I hope you are not inferring there is some lack of equality in our armed forces because 50% of the casualties are not women.

The women I know in the military want to fight on the lines and many are in jobs that are of equivalent danger to working on the front lines. I'm sure the military would love for you to help them up their recruitment of women.

Soon as we get through living in hell for nine months several times during our lifetimes, passing a watermelon through the eye of a needle, cooking three meals a day for fifty years, washing dishes sixteen times a day for eighty years, cleaning toilets, scrubbing floors, washing, drying, folding and putting away clothes, growing and tending and weeding the gardens, decorating house after house after house for sixty, seventy years, mediating altercations between family members for thirty years, raising, healing, teaching children for twenty-five years, after we come home from our full-time jobs....we'll get back to you on that.

Of course it doesn't impress a misogynist, as your "question" clearly indicates you are. As a matter of fact, if you REALLY want the truth, if WOMEN were making the decisions, there wouldn't be wars to BEGIN with so that your "heroes" wouldn't have to be "jumping up to take bullets" in the first place.

For you to talk about "women casualties" is beyond stupid, it's simply perverse. For your information, WOMEN kept the country running during WWII. You are obviously a bitter and lonely old man.

Hey, John Wayne is dead.

Hey, here's another thought for you:
Hundreds of thousands of women bravely forge ahead in the daily battlefield of their own lives, living with a physically abusive, battering, emotionally abusive husband. Maybe you can start a movement to get those "brave men" onto battlefields to meet a few bullets.

I hope that Conservative women don't get tired of this kind of politics or you will never get another Republican President.

Think, baby. We're all in this together.

Women and men are not the same. Figure this out.
