I am ignorant. I am ignorant about the hardships of people who live in areas where homosexuality is punishable by death. I am aware that they exist but I am ignorant as to their lives and how they get through day to day in the face of real oppression.

There's more to learn in this life than we will ever learn. And to say we "know" anything is complete ignorance, because "knowledge" doesn't even really exist. It's all perspective and observation, collaborately justified through true belief. But in the end, knowledge doesn't exist on a collaborative level..therefore, everyone is ignorant.
Socrates said it best when he was quoted to have said (by Plato) that "the only thing I know is that I know nothing".

I am ignorant towards hate of complete strangers.
If people say they hate Michael Vick or President Bush or Senator Craig.
How do you hate someone you've never even met?!?
I think we need a new word to convey our feelings of disgust or disappointment with the actions of public figures, so we don't have to keep calling it "hate".

I try my best not to be...but I probably am towards some things....my ex said i was self absorbed...only thought about the things i want and myself and ignored the rest...so i guess thats ignorance..its not a good thing..i want to change it...but atleast i can admit it...

I'm uninformed about a lot of things that don't interest me, but I don't think I'm ignorant. That word - to me - implies a lack of intelligence and an abundance of bigotry. I am quite intelligent and try extremely hard to live my life free of bigotry.
