Liquids only if in containers smaller than 100ml, all together in a resealable clear plastic bag no bigger than one liter.
This bag should contain all liquids you want to bring in your carry-on.
If you want to bring more, or bigger bottles, they have to go in your hold luggage.
Lipsticks may be counted as liquids, so better put it into the liquids bag.
Creams are liquids, as is toothpaste.

(The sizes in the USA are 3 oz containers in a one quart bag. If you are used to those measurements, they are near enough that you will not get in problems when you keep to them.)
