students and faculty to carry firearms? If people have a concealed handgun carry license, and were allowed to carry their handguns on campus, would this have saved more lives?

I agree Jack, and have stated a full opinion on one of your related questions. I feel everyone should be able to take care of themselves and can do so within the law . Be responsible for your own life. I full know the police cannot be at every crime scene to stop it before it happens. Quite the opposite. Police are reactionary in that they cannot stop something until they know what the threat is and the location of the problem. Sadly, by then it is usually too late.

The Police know this and I know it bothers them because it did me, but unfortunately, it is the nature of the beast.

Hi,
I am answering from Europe, where we are shocked to see all these killings... i don't think this would solve the problem. I think that police etc. have to deal with criminals, AND regular ppl shouldn't have firearms at all.

I have a feeling this everyone carrying gun would bring you back to wild west- no need for police or anything, just shoot when trouble comes. I think this is wrong. Proof of what i am saying is murder rate in US, and crime rate overall.

I think that there is a fault in society here- teens carrying weapons, belonging to gangs etc. drive by shootings etc.
US society has a problem- a BIG one.

Let me ask you one thing- WHY would a kid have a need to shoot anyone at all? In a stable society, i don't see the reason... US clearly does not have best social conditions-money is not all that matters. Lives will be saved WHEN you move guns from the streets.

That's my two cents.

Research has found that when a higher percent of the population carries guns, crime decreases....

Maybe the criminals are afraid to commit a crime when they suspect that everyone around has a gun, not just the cop that will show up later...

Yes absolutely! Now scream it from the rooftops how crazy these liberals are to forbid law abiding citizens this right! God Bless!

...except I'd think about the long term consequences of allowing handguns~ someone "normal" getting a license and the next thing you know...
